For Colored Girls

For Colored Girls:Last night after work, I decided to treat a movie because I am not in a while (I have not even seen the Social Network, I work in social media!) Had been. I had heard rave reviews from For Colored Girls, so I chose the movie to see.

I have had this one so that when I play the choreopoem , that the film is based on the preface, I honestly do not know much about it. For all intents and purposes, I was blind to the movies stepping. I had not even seen a preview!
I do not write any spoilers here, but I will say that the film is so much harder than I expected. I knew it was a drama, but I had no idea how serious it was. It follows eight black women (including Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson and Kimberly Elise) by the fighting they face in their families, relationships and life, and deals with issues such as rape, murder and abortion. I will say that there are moments that I laughed, but I definitely cried more often.
When I got home from the movie, I literally felt depressed. I still do. Certain scenes are followed me (and if you have ever seen, you know what I’m talking about). I tweeted that I found the film depressing, and so many people either agreed or said, “Really, I heard it was good?” I would like to clarify: I thought the movie was very good. A movie can be both good and depressing, the two do not exclude each other. I have negative reviews of the film as well as many who bash Tyler Perry said he read further stereotyping promote the black community. I do not agree. Although I am not a big fan of the Madea movies, I think the stories are presented in for colored girls realistic and universal, regardless of race.
I have no doubt that the original game and is choreopoem better (this is not always the case?), But after for colored girls, in my opinion, was definitely worth the money.
